CCGT 09T304 Aluminium is a ground-carbide positive insert for aluminium and non-ferrous turning, sized per ISO 1832 as 09-304.

CCGT inserts are precision-ground, sharp-edged positive inserts developed for aluminium and other non-ferrous materials. The polished flute and sharp cutting edge help produce a good surface finish and reduce built-up edge, which is a common issue when machining soft, gummy aluminium alloys with the wrong insert geometry.

Per ISO 1832, the leading letters of this code indicate a 80° rhombic insert shape with a 7° relief angle; the remaining characters set the tolerance class, fixing style, size, thickness and corner radius.
