CCMW 09T304 PCD
ISO Designation: CCMW 09T304 PCD
CCMW 09T304 PCD is a PCD-tipped turning insert sized per its ISO 1832 code (09-304), built specifically for aluminium and other non-ferrous finish turning.
This insert body uses a PCD (polycrystalline diamond) cutting tip rather than a solid carbide edge. PCD tooling is used specifically for aluminium and other non-ferrous, abrasive materials, where it offers substantially longer tool life between changeovers than carbide at comparable cutting speeds. It is not suitable for machining ferrous materials such as steel or cast iron.
Per ISO 1832, the leading letters of this code indicate a 80° rhombic insert shape with a 7° relief angle; the remaining characters set the tolerance class, fixing style, size, thickness and corner radius.
